Air Freight

Air Freight refers to the transportation of goods by aircraft. It is one of the fastest methods of shipping cargo over long distances and is commonly used for:

Urgent shipments that require quick delivery.

High-value or perishable goods, such as electronics, pharmaceuticals, and fresh produce.

Global trade, especially for destinations that are far or hard to reach by road, rail, or sea.

Ocean Freight

Ocean Freight refers to the transportation of goods by sea using cargo ships. It is the most common method of international shipping and is especially suited for large, heavy, or non-urgent shipments.

Cost-Effective: Much cheaper than air freight, especially for bulky or heavy goods.

High Capacity: Ships can carry large volumes of cargo, including containers, vehicles, and bulk materials.

Global Reach: Ideal for international trade, connecting major ports worldwide.

Road Freight

Road Freight is the transportation of goods using motor vehicles, typically trucks or lorries, over road networks. It is a flexible and widely used mode of transport for both domestic and cross-border logistics.

Flexibility: Ideal for door-to-door delivery, even to remote or rural locations.

Cost-Effective for Short to Medium Distances: Especially compared to air or sea for regional deliveries.

Speed for Local and Regional Transport: Fast and efficient within cities or across countries with good infrastructure.

Ship Chatering

Ship Chartering is the process of hiring a vessel or a portion of its cargo space for transporting goods from one port to another. It is commonly used in international trade, especially for large-volume, bulk, or specialized cargo. Chartering allows businesses to move goods without owning a ship, offering flexibility in terms of vessel type, route, and contract duration.

Voyage Charter The shipowner agrees to carry cargo for a specific voyage between designated ports. The charterer pays a freight rate per ton or lump sum. The shipowner covers operational costs (crew, fuel, port charges).

Time Charter The vessel is hired for a specific period of time. The charterer controls the commercial operations (routes, cargo) and pays a daily hire rate. The shipowner manages the ship's crew and technical operations.

Vessel Booking

Vessel Booking is the process of reserving space on a cargo ship for the transportation of goods by sea. It is a crucial step in international shipping logistics, allowing exporters, importers, or freight forwarders to secure a slot for their containers or bulk cargo on a scheduled vessel.

Carrier Selection Choosing an ocean carrier or shipping line based on service route, transit time, cost, and reliability.

Space Reservation Requesting and confirming cargo space on a specific vessel voyage, including container type and quantity (e.g., 20ft, 40ft, refrigerated).

Customs Clearance

Customs Clearance is the official process of preparing and submitting the required documentation to allow goods to enter or leave a country through its customs authorities. It is a critical step in international trade, ensuring that all shipments comply with the legal and regulatory requirements of both the exporting and importing countries.

Document Preparation Includes commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading/airway bill, certificate of origin, and any necessary licenses or permits.

Duties and Taxes Calculation Customs authorities assess and collect duties, VAT, and other import/export taxes based on the value, classification, and origin of the goods.

Customs Inspection (if required) Goods may be inspected physically or through documentation review to ensure compliance with safety, health, and legal standards.

Break bulk

Break bulk (also known as breakbulk or general cargo) is a method of transporting cargo that is not containerized or shipped in bulk (like oil or grain). Instead, break bulk cargo consists of individual pieces or units that are loaded, transported, and unloaded separately.

Shipped as individual items (not in containers or bulk tanks) Often too large, heavy, or awkwardly shaped for standard containers Requires manual handling, cranes, or special equipment Common for project cargo, heavy machinery, vehicles, steel, timber, etc.

Wind turbine parts Construction machinery Steel beams or coils Large engines or generators Palletized goods
